Hi, my name is Yijun Zhou, and you can also call me Annie.
I believe healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and accepted—just as we are. I don’t view therapy as a space where I “fix” or “instruct,” but as a collaborative, compassionate journey. I trust that you already hold deep strength and wisdom within yourself, and I feel honored to walk alongside you as we gently explore what’s unfolding in your life.
My approach is warm, relational, and culturally attuned. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic perspectives, and the biopsychosocial framework to understand your unique story within the context of your environment, relationships, emotions, and culture. More than any specific method, I’m committed to creating a space where you feel safe to show up as your full self—with all your complexity, uncertainty, and hope.
Shaped by cross-cultural experiences, I have a deep appreciation for the challenges that come with transition, identity, and belonging. I’m especially passionate about supporting international students, first-generation individuals, and those navigating in-between spaces—emotionally, culturally, or spiritually. Growing up with Chinese cultural values, I understand the silence that can surround topics like mental health, grief, sexuality, family conflict, and personal identity. I hold space for what may feel “taboo” or unspoken—with compassion, not judgment.
Whether you're coping with grief, anxiety, life transitions, or simply looking to reconnect with yourself, I offer a grounded, respectful presence. I believe therapy is not only about addressing problems—it’s about deepening understanding, nurturing wholeness, and growing together.
I provide services in both English and Chinese.
